Reddit Reveals What the Market Is Asking For

Real Demand
  • Early signals
Niche communities reveal needs before the broader market does.
  • Market gaps in plain sight
People ask for better options when the pain is real.
  • Unfiltered needs
Anonymous posts surface needs buyers won’t say to brands.
Real Context
  1. The “why” is visible
People tend to break down the "why" behind their opinion.
  2. What real use reveals
Threads show constraints, tradeoffs, and real-world use.
  3. Better answers rise
Public debate helps better answers rise above weaker ones.
Real Direction
  • Real-world proof
The signal is human, detailed, and grounded in real experience.
  • Human conversation wins
Reddit works to keep conversation human by limiting AI content.
  • Sharper next moves
Better decisions start with honest discussion at depth.

A Higher Standard for Market Insight

Where Most Market Research Fails
  • They mistake volume for insight
More comments, more keywords, more charts. But more output does not mean more insight.
  • They flatten everything into one number
A single sentiment score hides the real story: what people love, what they reject, and why.
  • They rely on weak methodology
Duplicate opinions, low-signal content, and noisy samples, make bad analysis look credible.
  • They leave the hard part to you
Most tools show shallow information, but not what matters, what drives perception, or what to do next.
The Prospalytics Framework
  • We make advanced analysis easy to use
Advanced analysis is handled end to end, so you get rigor without needing to be a data scientist.
  • We turn sentiment into something specific
Instead of one vague score, we show how people feel about each topic that matters.
  • We apply stronger methodological filters
Relevance is filtered in, noise is reduced, and the data is structured around what actually matters.
  • We turn findings into clear priorities
You see what matters most, what is actionable, and where to focus first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions we hear most
What is Prospalytics and what problem does it solve?

Prospalytics is an executive-focused social listening and decision-support service built specifically for Reddit.

Reddit contains unfiltered, high-signal conversations about products, markets, competitors, and unmet needs — but the data is noisy, fragmented, and difficult to convert into clear action. Prospalytics transforms that noise into structured, decision-ready insight.

How it works

Tell us:

  • Analysis mode (Discover, Search, Global) based on the research stage
  • Identify the most relevant subreddits with our subreddit recommender (Explore)
  • Job title and business context
  • Industry or market segment to be analyzed
  • The specific question to be answered (e.g., market gaps, unmet needs, customer experience, etc.)

We then:

  • Collect and process the relevant Reddit conversations
  • Run a rigorous data-science pipeline (topic discovery, aspect-level sentiment analysis, trend and momentum metrics)
  • Structure the findings for executive decision-making
  • Produce topic-level deep dives that explain the “why” behind each need, grounded in statistically selected high-relevance comments

What you receive

  • A business-ready insight report, downloadable as a PPT
  • A structured CSV file for storage, further analysis, or integration into your own systems

The core problem it solves

Most social listening tools provide dashboards. Most AI tools generate summaries. Prospalytics delivers prioritized, statistically grounded actions.

It converts unstructured Reddit discussions into clear guidance for product strategy, customer experience, marketing, positioning, and growth — revealing market gaps and customer pain points to refine your approach and accelerate growth.

What exactly do I get in each insight report?

Each insight report includes three core components: executive KPIs, topic-level analysis, and structured exportable data.

1. Executive overview & KPIs

  • Total mentions analyzed
  • Number of topics identified
  • Net sentiment
  • Median topic cohesion
  • Comment volume over time
  • Sentiment distribution
  • Topic share chart (relative size of each topic by volume)
  • Topic summary table with scores for:
    • Topic share
    • Cohesion
    • Momentum (z-score)
    • Growth
    • Actionability
    • Confidence

Includes Top 3 Decision Cards — prioritized recommendations derived directly from observed data patterns.

2. Topic-level deep dives (6–12 topics per report)*

Each topic includes:

  • Topic-specific volume over time
  • Topic-specific sentiment breakdown
  • Aspect-level sentiment tables, including:
    • Aspect-level comment volume
    • Pain scores
  • A dedicated Topic Decision Card, containing:
    • A recommended action
    • Supporting evidence from the data
    • Statistical backing for the decision
    • An actionability score (how feasible the action is)
    • A confidence score (signal reliability based on volume, cohesion, and sentiment consistency)
  • An in-depth analysis explaining the underlying “why” behind the topic, grounded in selected high-relevance comments.

3. Structured data export

Every report includes a downloadable CSV file containing all the data included in the insight report in a stable, structured framework designed for BI workflows and internal analysis.

The insight report is downloadable as a PPT, and the CSV file is built for export and integration into your own systems.

How do I choose which subreddits to analyze?

Two options:

1. Choose them yourself

If you already know where your audience or topic lives, you can manually select the subreddits to analyze (e.g., r/FinTech, r/SaaS, r/Accounting, or relevant niche communities).

2. Use the Subreddit Recommendation feature

If you’re unsure which communities are most relevant, you can use the subreddit recommendation tool in the Explore section of your client area.

To generate recommendations, you provide:

  • Your business objective or the type of insight you’re looking for
  • Related entities
  • Aspects (optional)

Based on this, we propose a mix of core and niche subreddits that are strongly aligned with your space.

How do the plans and credits work?

Prospalytics operates on monthly plans based on the number of insight reports included.

Plan options

  • Core – 3 standard credits per month
  • Growth – 8 standard credits per month
  • Pro – 20 standard credits per month
  • On-demand – (Up to 2 standard credits per month)

Each subreddit per insight report consumes 1 credit.

Credits are valid for 60 days from purchase. Any unused credits expire after that period.

How do scheduled (recurring) insight reports work?

Scheduled reports enable continuous monitoring of specific subreddits without the need to manually launch new analyses.

1. Set your parameters

Define:

  • Analysis mode (Discover, Search, Global) based on the research stage
  • Identify the most relevant subreddits with our subreddit recommender (Explore)
  • Job title and business context
  • Industry or market segment to be analyzed
  • The specific question to be answered (e.g., market gaps, unmet needs, customer experience, etc.)

2. Automatic execution

At each scheduled run:

  • New data is collected for the selected time period
  • A new insight report is generated automatically
  • A fresh insight report and CSV file are published to your account
  • 1 credit is used per subreddit analyzed for that run

Over time, this creates a structured time series of insights — allowing you to track shifts in sentiment, momentum, emerging topics, and recurring issues, rather than relying on a single snapshot.

What are emergency insight reports and when should I use them?

Emergency insight reports are available to Pro plan users and are designed for time-sensitive situations where faster turnaround is critical.

Typical use cases include:

  • Frequent or deadline-driven content creation
  • Major industry news or breaking developments
  • Product launches
  • Time-sensitive strategic decisions

How they work

Standard insight reports are processed through our full analytical pipeline to ensure depth, rigor, and quality.

Emergency insight reports use dedicated processing resources to accelerate turnaround time while maintaining the same analytical standards.

The result is significantly faster time-to-insight when timing matters most.

Important notes

  • Emergency insight report credits expire 24 hours after purchase
  • Emergency insight reports cannot be scheduled
How is Prospalytics different from using ChatGPT or generic social listening tools?

Prospalytics is not simply “asking ChatGPT about Reddit,” and it’s not a basic volume-and-sentiment dashboard.

It is a decision-oriented analytics system built on a rigorous data-science pipeline.

1. Data-science pipeline first, language model second

The analysis is built on structured statistical processing before any language generation occurs:

  • Mathematically designed sampling and processing
  • Word and meaning-based semantic matching
  • High-level topic discovery through clustering
  • GPU-powered aspect-based sentiment analysis
  • Growth, momentum, and turning-point metrics

The language model is used to synthesize findings, not to guess patterns.

2. Business-first, no-guesswork structure

Prospalytics is designed to support decisions, not just surface keywords.

  • No “maybe this keyword works” approaches
  • No shallow frequency dashboards
  • No vague summaries

Instead, results are organized into Decision Cards, each including:

  • A recommended action
  • Evidence from the data
  • Statistical backing
  • An actionability score (how feasible the action is)
  • A confidence score (signal reliability based on volume, cohesion, and sentiment consistency)

3. High-resolution, actionable insight

Beyond high-level themes, you receive:

  • In-depth analysis grounded in real comment data
  • Aspect-level sentiment tables optimized for prioritization
  • Clear breakdowns of what people are saying, why they’re saying it, and how often

The difference (to the point):

ChatGPT generates responses. Generic tools show metrics. Prospalytics is an end-to-end analytical pipeline designed by professional data scientists to produce structured, decision-ready insight.

Can I export the data and use it in my own BI tools?

Yes.

Each insight report includes a downloadable CSV file containing all of the structured data used in the report. The file follows a stable, well-defined framework, making it easy to integrate into your existing systems.

Can be loaded into:

  • Power BI, Tableau, Looker, and other BI tools
  • Internal dashboards or data warehouses
  • Custom analytics pipelines or models combined with your own datasets

The insight report itself is also downloadable as a PPT for sharing and reporting purposes.

THE VALUE OF PROSPALYTICS
What is the idea behind Prospalytics?

Prospalytics was founded by a team with backgrounds in business and data science who believe that better decisions build stronger companies, and stronger companies create more value for society.

The idea came from a problem they experienced firsthand. While evaluating their own business ideas, they found it difficult to confidently determine whether real market demand existed, how strong it was, and what people actually wanted.

Existing research tools often felt too shallow, unclear, or difficult to use. Many provided vague insights without proper quantification, making it hard to tell what really mattered, how common a viewpoint actually was, or what action to take next.

What stood out to them was Reddit: one of the most overlooked sources of market insight online. Its large, topic-specific communities give people space to openly discuss problems, compare solutions, and explain their reasoning in far more depth than on most other platforms.

The founders also saw a growing issue in the market: too much analysis was being shaped by AI-generated content and assumption-based outputs rather than real human signals. For businesses trying to understand customers and broader market demand, that can lead to distorted conclusions.

Prospalytics was built to solve that problem. Its purpose is to help founders, operators, and business leaders better understand real human demand, identify meaningful opportunities, and make decisions with greater confidence.

At its core, Prospalytics exists to translate people’s needs, frustrations, and desires into clear, useful insight that businesses can act on.

It converts unstructured Reddit discussions into clear guidance for product strategy, customer experience, marketing, positioning, and growth — revealing market gaps and customer pain points to refine your approach and accelerate growth.

Who is Prospalytics for?

Prospalytics is built for founders and teams who need signal — not noise — from real customer conversations.

It’s designed for:

  • Product teams – roadmap planning, feature prioritization, user experience improvements, and identifying recurring pain points
  • Marketing and growth teams – market opportunities, positioning strategy, demand signals, and audience sentiment
  • Content creators – understanding what audiences are already discussing, searching for, and engaging with, including volume trends
  • Founders and strategy teams – category sentiment, competitive narratives, emerging risks, and early warning signals

If you care about what real users are saying “in the wild” and want to turn that into clear direction and action, Prospalytics is built for you.

  • Job title and business context
  • Industry or market segment to be analyzed

The specific question to be answered (e.g., Market gaps, unmet needs, customer experience, etc.)

How long does it take for an insight report to be crafted?

Timing depends on several factors:

  • The size and activity level of the selected subreddit(s)
  • Whether an analysis is standard or emergency
  • Overall system demand at the time of submission
  • Standard insight reports

Standard reports are processed through the full analytical pipeline to ensure depth, rigor, and quality. Turnaround time varies depending on dataset size and system load.

Emergency insight reports (Pro plan)

Emergency reports use dedicated processing capacity to accelerate turnaround time while maintaining the same analytical standards. They are designed for situations where timing is critical.

For high-urgency or crisis situations

We recommend:

  • Using the Pro plan with emergency insight reports for faster turnaround
  • Maintaining scheduled (recurring) reports to always have up-to-date baselines and trend history

This helps to stay prepared when timing becomes critical.

What are Decision Cards and how should I use them?

Decision Cards are data-driven recommendations generated for each topic in your insight report. They translate observed patterns in the data into clear, prioritized actions.

Each Decision Card includes:

  • Action – A concrete recommendation on what to do
  • Evidence (“Because”) – The key supporting metrics (volume, sentiment, momentum, pain score)
  • Statistical note – Additional context explaining the strength of the signal
  • Actionability score – How feasible it is to implement the recommendation in practice
  • Confidence score – How reliable the signal is, based on volume, cohesion, and sentiment consistency
  • How to use them

Decision Cards are designed to move you from insight to execution. Use them to:

  • Inform product roadmaps and prioritization discussions
  • Guide strategy planning and decision-making
  • Design experiments or targeted initiatives
  • Generate new content ideas or identify market opportunities
  • Track over time (via scheduled reports) whether an issue persists, grows, or improves
BUILT TO FIT YOUR WORKFLOW
Can I export the data and use it on my own BI tools?

Yes.

Each insight report includes a downloadable CSV file containing all of the structured data used in the report. The file follows a stable, well-defined framework, making it easy to integrate into your existing systems.

Can be loaded into:

  • Power BI, Tableau, Looker, and other BI tools

These capabilities are designed to help teams move from analysis to communication, reporting, and operational use with minimal friction.

WHERE THE SIGNAL LIVES

How does the subreddit recommendation feature work in practice?

The subreddit recommendation feature is located in the Explore section of your client area.

To generate recommendations, provide:

  • The business objective or the type of insight you’re looking for
  • Related entities
  • Aspects (optional)

Based on this input, we return:

Recommended subreddits designed for individual or combined analysis, prioritizing high-signal communities and perspectives to strengthen insights and improve the precision of business decision-making.

Recommended subreddits can then be used to launch on-demand insight reports or set up scheduled monitoring.

Plans, Credits & Account Management
How do the plans and credits work?

Prospalytics operates on monthly plans based on the number of insight reports included.

Plan options

  • Core – 3 standard credits per month
  • Growth – 8 standard credits per month
  • Pro – 20 standard credits per month
  • On-demand – (Up to 2 standard credits per month)

Each subreddit per insight report consumes 1 credit.

Credits are valid for 60 days from purchase. Any unused credits expire after that period.

What happens if I don’t use all of my insight reports in a month?

Credits are valid for 60 days from purchase. Unused credits expire after that.

Emergency insight report credits expire 24 hours from the time they are purchased.

How does scheduling interact with my credits?

Each scheduled run counts as one insight report and uses 1 credit per subreddit per run.

For example, if a monthly insight report is scheduled on a subreddit (or multiple subreddits), it will:

  • Run automatically each month
  • 1 credit is used per subreddit analyzed for that run
  • Generate a new insight report containing a PPT export and CSV file for that run

Can be combined:

  • Scheduled reports for ongoing tracking, and
  • On-demand reports for new questions or time-sensitive analyses

Note: Emergency insight reports cannot be scheduled. Emergency credits expire 24 hours after purchase.

Can I change or cancel my plan?

Absolutely. Plans are flexible.

Upgrade at any time to access more insight reports and emergency insight report capacity (Pro plan) when urgent business decisions require fast turnaround.

Downgrade or cancel at any time. Your insight reports remain available for one year, and unused credits keep their original expiration terms.

How do refunds work?

Refunds are only available if no credits have been used and the current billing cycle is still active.

Once any credit has been used, or the billing cycle has ended, the purchase is no longer eligible for a refund.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND PROSPALYTICS
Why is it important that our analytics pipeline is backed by data science?

Many research and analytics platforms produce polished dashboards. But the reliability of those dashboards depends entirely on the processing pipeline behind them.

When the underlying pipeline lacks rigor, results can look convincing while still being biased, unstable, or misleading.

Some tools also require heavy configuration, forcing teams to make technical decisions about sampling, filtering, and modeling — without the background needed to evaluate those trade-offs. That increases the risk of flawed conclusions.

Our approach is different.

Prospalytics is designed by data science experts specialized for market research to produce defensible, decision-grade outputs with minimal setup.

The interface remains simple. The complexity stays in the infrastructure.

What that means in practice

Our pipeline includes:

  • High-performance GPU-backed natural language processing for deep, compositional analysis
  • Hybrid retrieval combining semantic understanding with lexical precision
  • High-level clustering for structured topic identification
  • Aspect-level sentiment measurement
  • Growth indicators and automated quality validation

A language-model layer then translates these quantitative signals into clear explanations. The narrative you read is grounded in measured evidence — not surface-level summaries.

The result is insight you can trust for prioritization, planning, and strategic decisions — not just a visually appealing dashboard.

THE FOUNDATION OF RELIABLE INSIGHT
What data is used from Reddit, and how is my content handled?

We analyze publicly available Reddit content from subreddits you select — either directly or through the Subreddit Recommendation feature in the Explore section.

We do not access private messages, private communities, or non-public data.

Data privacy and account handling

  • Each insight report is accessible only to you and to your authorized users
  • PPT and CSV exports are accessible only through your client area
  • All report outputs are protected behind your secure login (restricted from public access)
Who can see the insight reports?

Insight reports are private to the account and accessible only to you and to your authorized users.

They can be downloaded:

  • The insight report as a PPT
  • A structured CSV file containing the analysis results shown in the insight report

We do not provide downloads of the raw Reddit dataset used in the analysis — only the processed results and metrics.

For more details on data access and account privacy, please refer to our Terms of Service.

How is the data selected to process?

We filter and select the most relevant Reddit data based on your business context and the subreddits you select.

The dataset used for each insight report is:

Recent

Social conversations lose relevance quickly. We prioritize recent discussions to ensure insights reflect current sentiment, needs, and market dynamics.

Clean

We remove low-signal or noise-heavy content, such as one-word reactions (e.g., “lmao”, “wtf”) and heavily downvoted comments. This helps prevent distortion from low-quality inputs.

Statistically meaningful

Even after cleaning, we ensure the remaining dataset is large enough to support reliable analysis and statistically grounded conclusions.

Is Prospalytics limited to Reddit, or does it cover other platforms?

Prospalytics currently focuses exclusively on Reddit — by design.

Reddit offers a unique combination of structured communities and high-signal conversations that make it especially valuable for decision-oriented analysis.

Here’s why:

1. High-signal communities

Subreddits naturally organize around specific products, problems, and categories.

Each subreddit functions as a concentrated audience cluster with shared interests, priorities, and constraints.

2. Rich, contextual discussions

Reddit’s threaded conversations provide depth that most platforms lack. Users openly discuss:

  • Switching decisions and churn
  • Regret and dissatisfaction
  • Comparisons (“What should I choose?”)
  • Budget constraints, workflows, and edge cases

The structure of threads preserves the reasoning behind decisions — not just surface opinions.

3. Stronger resistance to AI-generated noise

A growing share of online content is AI-generated, which can dilute authentic human feedback and distort signals.

Reddit communities actively moderate discussions and restrict low-quality or AI-generated content in many contexts. This helps preserve more genuine, experience-based conversations — which improves the reliability of insights.

By focusing on Reddit, Prospalytics prioritizes signal quality, contextual depth, and authenticity over broad but shallow multi-platform coverage.

How accurate are the sentiment and pain scores?

We combine multiple analytical layers to improve reliability and reduce false signals.

1. Aspect-level sentiment

Instead of labeling an entire comment as simply positive, negative, or neutral, we analyze sentiment at the aspect level.

For example, a comment like:

“The food was great but the service was slow.”

would register positive sentiment for food and negative sentiment for service.

This allows us to capture nuance and avoid oversimplified sentiment classifications. A significant portion of our computational resources is dedicated to this process.

2. Signal-strength filtering

We incorporate additional quality controls to reduce noise:

  • Topic cohesion metrics to measure semantic consistency
  • Confidence indicators based on volume and sentiment stability
  • Filtering of weak or low-reliability signals

This helps prevent over-interpreting scattered or low-volume comments.

3. Pain score methodology

Pain scores are not based on sentiment alone.

They combine:

  • Volume (how often the issue appears)
  • Polarity (negative vs. positive sentiment)
  • Severity (intensity of dissatisfaction)

This ensures that high pain scores reflect both frequency and strength of dissatisfaction.

What we strive for

  • Transparency through visible confidence indicators in the insight reports
  • Avoiding strong claims when signals are weak
  • Supporting recommendations with representative (rephrased) quotes to validate the interpretation

The goal is reliable directional insight for prioritization and decision-making.

What is Aspect-level sentiment and why does it matter?

Aspect-level sentiment identifies specific elements within a comment and assigns sentiment to each one individually.

For example:

“The food was great, but the service was slow.”

Instead of labeling the entire comment as positive or negative, we separate it into:

  • Food → Positive
  • Service → Negative

This allows us to capture nuance that traditional sentiment analysis would miss.

Why it matters

  • A single comment can praise one part of an experience and criticize another
  • Topic-level sentiment alone can hide critical friction points
  • Decision-making requires understanding what exactly people like or dislike — not just overall tone

Aspect-level sentiment makes that level of precision possible.

How Aspect-level sentiment is used in your insight report

Aspect-level sentiment powers:

  • The Aspect-level sentiment tables (aspect volume, positive %, negative %, pain scores)
  • Ranked lists of positive and negative aspects
  • Fine-grained recommendations in Decision Cards (what to fix, improve, or amplify)
  • Contextual explanations of each aspect inside the In-depth analysis

A significant portion of our GPU processing is dedicated to Aspect-level sentiment. It is one of the core components of our analytical pipeline because it provides structured, aspect-level insight — not just surface-level sentiment.

Can I run analyses on multiple subreddits at once?

Yes, but it is only available to Core, Growth, and Pro plan members.

You can run an analysis on:

  • A single subreddit, or
  • A group of up to 5 subreddits that together represent your market or category

For example, you might combine a large primary subreddit with several relevant niche communities.

When grouped, the selected subreddits are treated as one combined conversation, aligned to the business question you define.

The current limit is 5 subreddits per insight report, for both On-Demand and Scheduled reports.

If you’re unsure how to group subreddits effectively within that limit, the Subreddit Recommendation feature in the Explore section can help you identify the most relevant combination.

Important notes

  • Each subreddit included in an insight report uses 1 credit.
  • For example, a report covering 3 subreddits will use 3 credits.
